I have always been fascinated by art. I discovered early that it is what I do best, and even though I've followed a varied career path, I always return to art. My vocations have been Medical Technology, Molecular Biology, and Software Design Engineering. My avocations have been all things outdoors associated with the Colorado mountains, where I make my home and my art.

I started out early in my life with graphite drawing. Next I moved to charcoal, pastels, oils and acrylics, watercolor, and have finally arrived at exploring colored pencils as an art form. I believe here is a medium I can make "sing", regardless of the subject matter. I was never formally schooled in art techniques, but have taken advantage of art workshops whenever possible.

Art is a way to get at the heart of things, to reveal the soul of the subject for everyone to see and appreciate. This is the job of the artist, in my opinion. The more clearly the artist can reveal the truth within the subject, the more enduring the piece of artwork. It is a joyful task and brings me much pleasure , and hopefully my viewer as well.
